We started this blog when we were expecting Daniel. He's growing up so fast, and we now keep this blog mostly for him. It is our a way of memorializing our experiences of parenting and his amazing childhood, so as not to forget the magic time that this is.

I started this blog during my pregnancy with Daniel. Its purpose was to document my thoughts/feelings/experiences for the child having them with me from the womb. I tried to start another blog – separate from the pregnancy and found that just didn't work. That Daniel I knew before his birth and the Daniel I know now are so clearly the same person; I can't wrap my head around separating them... especially since this blog's primary purpose is to document for Daniel all of that which he may one day want to know in order to make sense of, expand on, write/think about, share more of who he is. I've begun consolidating the entries from the ill-fated post-pregnancy blog and posting them here. Blogging post-pregnancy is a lot harder than blogging pre-pregnancy, so entries have been spotty. Sometimes because we were enjoying ourselves to much to pause and document; sometimes because we were overwhelmed by life and its ever-unfolding story. These days, I find myself wanting and able to write more, so here I am, in the fervent hope of resuming the story our our family's shared life.
